Through the generosity of her community, Meredith Lewis collected 575 shoes for the charity organization "Soles4Souls". Footwear can help eliminate the spreading of diseases through the foot as well as help children obtain an education, as many schools have footwear requirements to attend. Taking the time to recycle footwear changes lives. Meredith would like to give special thanks to Emmanuel and Zion United Methodist Churches, Lisa's Hair Design, Martin's IGA, and Walmart for displaying the collection boxes. The overwhelming response to this service project confirmed to her the goodness of others. The donation of shoes will be delivered to someone's brother or sister, son or daughter. Providing for the needs of strangers is exactly what John Wesley meant when he said, "Do all the good you can, in all the ways you can, to all the souls you can, in every place you can, at all the times you can, with all the zeal you can, as long as ever you can." In five years, Soles4Souls gave away over 12 million pairs of shoes. It facilitates the delivery of shoes, which are used to aid the hurting worldwide. It is easy for anyone to help give hope, simply by giving a pair of shoes. For more information about this organization, go online to www.giveshoes.com.
