Shirley Goble

Shirley A. Goble, 76, of Westfield, died at 3:22 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
Born May 25, 1935, in Longview, the daughter of Oscar Krietemeyer and Alona Thomas Krietemeyer, she was a homemaker, who spent her life working on the family farm and raising her family. She was a member of the Westfield United Methodist Church. She had a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to assist others.
Mrs. Goble is survived by three sons, Bruce Goble and Rex (Chrissy) Goble, both of Westfield, and Chris (Susan) Goble of New Windsor; a daughter, Sharon Goble Hall of Decatur; grandchildren, Michelle Gower, Daniel (Jennifer) Gower, Stuart (Tracy) Goble, Terry (fiance Ranee) Goble, Samantha Mattingly and Ellie Goble; great-grandchildren, Vanessa and Jeffrey Gower and Marshall and Audrey Goble; two brothers, Russell Krietemeyer of Moweaqua and Richard (Joyce) Krietemeyer of Redmon; a sister, Darlene Van Sickle of Charleston; and several nieces and nephews.
She married Robert Rex Goble on January 7, 1955, in Newman, and he died December 28, 1999. She also was preceded in death by her parents; infant twin daughters; two brothers, Louis Krietemeyer and Warren Krietemeyer; and a sister, Helen Culton.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Westfield, with Rev. Walter Miller officiating. A celebration of her life was held at the Westfield United Methodist Church, immediately following the graveside service.
